Janet picked up 3 awards at the recent East Midlands Region Master Photographers Association annual print competition.
From over 240 entries Janet received an Award of Excellence & a Merit for her portraits of springer spaniel Poppy on the sand dunes at Mablethorpe, and a second merit for a dramatic seascape taken during a storm at Sutton on Sea
Maltby le Marsh Village Hall was the venue for a surprise Birthday Party for Barabara.
Her family had been busy organising the event for weeks, & as the day drew nearer were finding it harder & harder to keep it all a secret…….but they did !
After the initial shock the ‘birthday girl ‘ was soon busily chatting away with all her family & friends, some of whom had travelled a good distance just to share in this special evening.
As for her husband, Archie…..we just couldn’t keep him off the dance floor !!
Poppy is a very energetic young springer spaniel & the best place to photograph such mad/ wild enthusiasm is right on the beach.
I was just a little concerned when I rang Cathy to confirm our meeting place… & she told me she was doing her hair…….that’s Cathys’ NOT Poppys !!
A good time was had by all……all three of us came back wet & tired !!

What a pleasure it was to get some great shots of an ‘ old friend ‘. TESSA is a 15 year old labrador/border collie cross. Although Tessa is a little wobbly now on the back legs, the soft sandy beach was a great location for her, even if she did go wandering in different directions. Tessa being deaf and not a little awkward meant a great deal of patience was essential.
The results were worth it – memories to treasure always.

The wind was blowing but the sun managed to shine through as I joined Sam & Danny on the beach at Mablethorpe for a portrait shoot.
After a little nervous start both soon relaxed into the full swing of a professional photography session, on a part of their local beach that they were not too familiar with. I do believe Danny quite enjoyed playing the part of a model, if only for a while !
